Exercise
Exercise is the true fountain of youth. Everyday we find how exercising helps prolong man life; exercising aids sleep, tones major muscles, help reduce stress, renew one’s sense of well-being, and protects the body from cardiovascular disease.
Exercise also increases the body’s ability to fight disease, which
is important because the decline of the immune system appears to be
the major factor in humans aging and life span.
Our current lifestyle of sofa chairs, remote controls and motor
transportation does not challenge the body to move, yet our
biological need for physical movement is still very great. Exercise
can strongly influence the function of most of the organ systems and
much of the chemistry of our bodies and brains. The changes caused
by exercise are dose responsive, but maybe not in the way you
believe. In fact, twice as much is twice as good only up to your
best levels. Anymore beyond that begins an overtraining response and
a decline in health. Exercise dosage combines distance (or time),
intensity and frequency -- how far, how fast, how often.
An additional factor may be technique, which determines the
muscle groups and total muscle mass used in the exercise. Taking
into consideration the type and dosage of exercise, it affects the
body and its system in numerous positive ways
Our creator gave us the tools to help maintain a healthy life.
Exercising is one of the major tools necessary for us to complete
our task on this earth. Exercising is just like serving our savoir.
You can’t do it for someone else; in order to reap the rewards you
have to develop individual habits of consistent connection of your
very own. The three main components of fitness are broken down into:
Resistance Training
- Resistance training is the name that is used to cover all types of
“Strength” or “weight training” programs. These are all weight
bearing exercises that stress and breakdown your peripheral muscles.
Aerobic Training - Aerobic exercise is continuous rhythmic use of large muscle groups in a weight-bearing manner at sufficient frequency, distance and intensity. Aerobics are the only exercise that changes metabolism and chemistry in enough ways to bring about a wide range of health gains.
Flexibility Training - Flexibility can be defined as the ability of a joint to move through an optimum Range of Motion (ROM). Not only do flexibility exercises such as stretching help combat stiff muscles and joints, they also help to increase ROM.
